My dd (13) suffers from eczma around her mouth where the skin goes really sore and red and dry. Recently these littlr lighter patches have developed all along above her eyebrow line and she says they are itchy.

Can anyone tell me what this is please ? And also how to help. The gps are rubbish and the last time she was looked at they said to continue to mousterise a few times a day. There must be something that can help.

I'm trying to attach a pic but it won't let me . Will attach as soon as I can

I wonder if it could be sebhorreic dermatitis. I get this in the crease on the sides of my nose at the bottom of my cheeks and if I don't keep it in check with a little bit of daktacort regularly, it spreads to my eyebrows and makes the skin red/flaky/sore/itchy.

Fungus grow in wet areas like around the mouth. More common in winter as we tend to lick our lips more due to heating inside and cold temperatures outside.
Fungus then spreads easily, hence the eyebrows.
Anti fungal cream will clear it.

Ah ok both good replies, thank you and I'll check them out. Is daktacort an anti fungal, does anyone know?

Had she been moisturising as directed by GP? Try that first before trying an anti fungal. Pharmacist can advise on creams to use

My thought too. It occurs where there are hair follicles or oily glands - so nose, eyebrows, scalp, ears and cheeks by nose.

Nizoral shampoo is a good treatment - apply as per shampoo but on affected areas (follow instructions). Baby shampoo helps some people too.
