Dr Martens help

I've just bought a pair of vegan Dr martens. Now I have very narrow feet and struggle with shoes! I tried them on with 2 pairs of socks and I can feel them slipping on the heel - a common problem for me. I can't decide whether to get an insole and persevere with them or just send them back. They might be an expensive mistake. DD1 had them in a size smaller and I've tried those - definitely too small.
I love them, but it's not worth it is it?

I have quite narrow feet but have done well with my DMs when worn in. Mine are the type that need lacing quite high so I don’t know if that makes a difference. What sort of style are yours?

They're the 8 hole 1460 vegan ones

I have the opposite problem with wide feet so I've had to go up a size, I would swap them for a size down. They are expensive shoes so need to fit properly 😁

I have the same pair BTW 😁

They're not cheap, so I'd want them to be right. If they're not right, send them back.

But before you do, have you really tightened up the laces from the bottom? Sometimes with boots, it's a case of really adjusting the laces to get the fit you need.

I have tried on the vegan ones in shops and find them much more uncomfortable than the leather ones, the sole is rock hard with no bounce in it at all, they seem to be made very differently to regular ones and feel very cheap to me which is a shame. You could try an insole and see if it makes a difference, Dr martens do their own.
