secret Santa present. Recipient is 25, female, just starting a social work degree. Doesn’t wear make up . Very into environment and sustainability so want something that isn’t plasticy or hard to dispose of . Has to be light enough for me to put in my suitcase ). All ideas very welcome. I’m stuck.

A really nice water flask.

I wouldn’t have thought of that gingernutmint. Thanks for a good idea.

My daughter is a similar age and loves her string bag and the felt soaps from a place called Wild Grove.

Janieread. Thanks for this. I’ve not come across felted soaps. Intriguing.

Wool jumper or scarf/hat (made of actual wool) from a charity shop or vinted.

Handkerchiefs to use instead of tissues. I use plain white men’s ones. Also far more soothing if you’ve got a cold!

Insulated chilly cup or bottle as pp suggested. Budget is about right for them too.

A subscription to Ethical consumer magazine - I think it £30.

Have a look on here: Green Tulip they’ve got some really lovely gifts. I’d go for something like beautiful beeswax wraps for sandwiches and food covers - the sort of thing that feels expensive to invest in yourself when you can just buy clingfilm for a couple of quid but you know would be better!

These are such helpful suggestions. Thanks

Have a browse in the Traidcraft catalogue and see if there's anything you think she's like.

May be the ethically sourced, hand knitted bobble hat? Or the ethical cotton socks?

Or if you think she won't want more Stuff, then they have a good food and drink section

I'd imagine she already has reusable bags, cups and flasks if she's into the environment. Buying more than is needed can be more damaging than just using single use.

I always like consumables. Organic wine, fair trade chocolate (I think Tony's Chocolony has good eco credentials, but not sure), handmade soap or eco friendly beauty products such as moisturiser or body wash, ideally in recyclable plastic free packaging.
