Best baby wrap for wearing around the house?

nannyquestion1 · 23/11/2022 12:10

I did a search on here but couldn't quite find what I was looking for.

Never used a wrap before but I really want to with my 12 day old.

Best recommendations for a day to day wearing wrap?

TIA

I'd say the Kari-me. Stretchy wrap, when she was that small I could get DD in and out without undoing the sling. I could do what I wanted wearing, her and even what I didn't i.e. hoovering.

Some on eBay www.ebay.co.uk/b/Kari-Me-Sling/100982/bn_7023529023

Main things with all fabric slings are to tie it pretty tight and spread the fabric out especially on your shoulders so the weight is distributed.

We had a cheap stretchy wrap, the babies absolutely loved it and it was comfy to wear. Lasted until they were about 6 months I think.

Ours was "jazooli" apparently. They're £5 on Amazon. The equivalent branded one is probably a Hana wrap or Close Caboo which are more like £50. Then obviously everything in between!

Yes, what @CakeCrumbs44 says. Cheap stretchy cotton-lycra wrap that just bundles them on you - if it's tied well then nothing digs in to wearer or baby and light fabric so neither of you overheats. Whatever is cheapest on Amazon :)

A quick Google and I found this nice video showing how to tie one and put baby in:

Brought back lots of lovely memories :)

I enjoyed the video. Fascinating!

My youngest child is 17..

I loved the Close Caboo when DD was tiny, much easier to use than a long piece of stretchy fabric. Plenty on Vinted if you don't want to pay full price

Yes to a stretchy wrap. Doesn't need to be one of the very expensive ones.
DS1 was the ultimate velcro baby. I used to tie the wrap at home, drive to wherever we needed to go, and then pop him in it.

Thank you everyone! Especially the tips about secondhand ones - I would never have thought about that.

Get a fancy one second hand on Facebook or Vinted, then you can swish about elegantly (within the limits of 12 day old babyhood!).
