Have you ever resigned from a job in your probationary period?

I have been miserable since getting covid at the beginning of the month and getting behind with my job at which I was 4 weeks in.
It's gone from bad to worse and I have been vomiting from anxiety on the mornings I am due in (it's only meant to be a 3 day a week job but feels like I am thinking about it 24/7)
It's a small team and I know it's going to be disruptive but if I'm not right for the job I should leave right?

It depends, are the parts of the job that you’re struggling with fixable/changeable do you think? Could you talk to your line manager?

Are there any benefits to remaining? Are there other options that you could do if you resign from this one? Your notice period on probation may only be a week or two so can you bridge the gap to another job?
it does sound like you’re having a big reaction to this job… vomiting due to anxiety is quite extreme. Is this the only job it’s happened with?
from the detail you’ve given it sounds like it’s massively stressing you out and you need to leave but thinking about the above questions will help to guide clearer answer.

Yes, I did. I had to give a weeks notice in my probationary period and I’d already told them I had a weeks holiday booked that fell within that period. But I’d interviewed for another job and was waiting to hear if I’d got it or not. The guy I was waiting on was working away and hadn’t got back to me so the Friday before I went in holiday I took a chance and called him and asked if I’d been successful (and explained why I was asking as when I got back I’d then have to give over a months notice). Luckily he said yes I’d been successful and so I went back to the office (I’d already left for the day) and left my resignation letter for the department head to read on the Monday. In my defence it was the worst job I’ve ever had - rubbish money, people not very nice, no prospects. And I left it for the best job I’ve ever had - loads of money, gravelled the world and made friends I’ve still got twenty five years later. So I felt vindicated. Life’s too short to be unhappy in your job.

Travelled! Not gravelled. It wasn’t in tarmac! 😁

I stuck one job until the end of the probationary period but I knew a week in it wasn't for me. If you are throwing up every morning you go in and it's all you can think about then in your place I'd be saying sorry, this isn't for me. Both your body and your mind are telling you that it isn't right.
