Disney land Paris - worth it if not going on rides?

Can’t ride any rollercoasters. As adults, is it worth going for the Christmas atmosphere if not going on any rides? Or are there enough sedate non jarring things to go on? Or waste of money?

There's loads of tame rides, they'll be something you can ride.

It's a nice Christmas atmosphere but it depends what you like really.

Any reason you're considering DLP?

it's a small world after all,
it's a small world after all
it's a small world after all
it's a small small world

I don't like rollercoasters, lots of other things.

ChicCroissant · 21/11/2022 15:04

I think it's a small world is shut, actually! Check the website for closed rides.

If you don't want to go on the rides there are shows to see, you can queue up for the character meets or have a meal with the characters. There are some walk-through attractions (Nautilus, Aladdin, dragon under the castle, Alice maze) that are not rides.

Plenty of sedate rides though - Peter Pan, Snow White, Carrousel - again, have a look on the website for ideas. Or are you just looking for an excuse not to go?

I was a scaredy cat 4 year old where even the tea cups where scary... I went on it's a small world 20+ times in two days.

It is the best

DONT DO IT!!!!
spent 3 days there when pregnant with DD, who is now 4 and still haven't recovered. All I could do was it's a small world and my Mother and SiL spent their time on rides while I wondered around feeling shit!

Kikikik · 21/11/2022 19:56

If you can't go on rides because of pregnancy be warned.... Loads of stuff they will not let you on.
I could do:
The flying elephants
It's a small world
The computer game shooty one
Anddddddd that's about it!

There’s loads of sedate rides. Ratatouille, Peter Pan, buzz light year, cars, pirates of the Caribbean. The daily parade and the fireworks are both amazing.

There’s also lots of shows, mostly in the studio part of the park. It’s a few years since I’ve been but there was a car stunt driving show, and a Mickey musical that had excerpts from the lion king, frozen etc.

Theres a shop selling Disney themed Christmas decorations, if you’re into that kind of thing.

Wtafis · 21/11/2022 20:04

I’m there ar the moment.

How are you defining sedate? Gentle boat ride, teacups?

the shows and parades are fantastic and constant.

mweting characters is fun if you can suspend your disbelief enough

Elderflower14 · 21/11/2022 20:45

I took ds2 to DLP fourteen years at Christmas ... He's profoundly deaf and autistic... He persuaded me to go on the bloody Tower of Terror.... Oh my days.... I got off the ride and was tottering around looking very green...
"Mumma......" I then got poked in the ribs... "MUMMA!"
"Yes darling..?"
"WIMP MUMMA WIMP!!"
It was the only photo I bought from a ride... I'm clutching on to his wrist...My knuckles and his wrist are white. I'm screaming at him and he's laughing his head off... Little bugger!!! 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

ScarlettOHaraHamiltonKennedyButler · 21/11/2022 21:10

There are shows, parades, character meets, walk throughs and plenty of very tame rides. If you aren't going on rides you can do so much especially since you won't have to wait in the often mammoth queues!

Recent spinal surgery so gentle or moving in one direction ok, nothing bumpy fast spinny or upside down! But you’ve persuaded me it’s doable! Always wanted to go.

I think you'd have to avoid pretty much all the rides. There's a boat ride up the back, Les pays de Contes de fees, where you do literally just float around, but everything else, even the rides for little kids, have the potential to be a bit jerky which won't be good for your healing spine. It's a small world was distinctly shut a few weeks ago. Back in October, there were 4 separate shows to see and 3 parades, but they only operate between 10 and about 6. Frozen and Stitch have an almost constant round of performances, but the other ones had fewer performance options. Unfortunately the parades and shows are in different parks. Personally, given Disney's astronomical prices, I'd wait and visit when I could go on the rides. Unless money is no option.

Wtafis · 22/11/2022 20:19

So things that are pretty gentle but check their accessibility rules

  • buzz lightyear
  • pays de conte fees
  • small world (closed at the moment)
  • cars tram tour (maybe, it does rock quote vigorously in places)
  • steam boat fide
  • steam train

but there is walkthrough

  • alladin
  • adventure islanf

shows

  • Mickey and the magician
  • stitch live
  • lion king

lots of parades, fireworks and drone at night, outdoor shows, character meeting
