Storage for big toys?

We have Ikea Kallax upstairs and downstairs (4x4 and 2x2) which are great. But increasingly DD’s toys are bigger than the baskets.
How do you store the big things? She’s only just 3 so still playing downstairs and with us so ideally nothing too hideous to look at.

Do you have space to store them in a wardrobe or even in a corner of her bedroom, then she bring them downstairs when she wants to play with them? We have a small house and this has worked for us.

Unfortunately, in the toddler years you need to compromise on taste if you don't have a playroom. But toys shrink again at school age (or they start playing in their bedroom!)

Open shelves are best for bulky stuff, with baskets for the little bits.

We have got two storage ottomans for this purpose. One in the lounge (which can double up an an extra seat) and another in DS bedroom.

Yes she can have some in her room although it’s dominated by a teepee that unfortunately she loves which takes up a lot of space. It’s a good size double though. We have a lot of books up there too as she is a big fan.

DD is an only child and the only grandchild on both sides so she does get rather a lot of things. Even though we try to curb it she does have a lot!

House is a thatched cottage so a bit quirky, full of beams and wonky walls which makes it ‘interesting’ to fit things to the walls etc.

I am intending to move her to a double
bed next year and thought I’d get one with storage drawers all around which could help.

That’s a good idea. Would work for all the endless doll paraphernalia (clothes, baths, beds etc).

I’ve just had a clear out of toys for the charity shop and have 2 empty Kallax baskets now for Christmas but there’s a lot of bigger Playmobil etc that never has a home.

This is about as tidy as it gets at the moment. It’s the big stuff that drives me crackers.
(I realise the Kallax is 3x4 not 4x4).

The toy pushchair is more annoying than hers tbh! 🙈
