Pottery franchise

A few years ago (when on mat leave the first time), I looked into buying a pottery franchise. I’m on mat leave again and wondering if I should consider it again….

Has anyone done this/ any pros and cons? All the baby groups I go to have footprint pottery people coming in, and the lady I spoke to in Sept was fully booked until xmas. It seems (in an overly simplistic way) if I could get in with some local baby group leaders it might be a goer.

Reasons for considering it again - better work/ life balance. With my current job, if I return from mat leave DH and I would do 2 days each of leaving early/ returning late.

One of these paint your own places?

There is a very good one local to me. Running costs must be astronomical though for the kiln. You'd need a certain throughput to have a full kiln as otherwise people would have to wait too long for their artwork to be ready.

And you'd have to be good at doing the lettering yourself too.

I used to run a Paint your own pottery business. If you want to do it, don't go down the franchise route. The main benefit of franchises is that you're selling a well known name/brand, but there's plenty out there to get you up and running in PYOP without giving loads of money to someone else.
