I thought I got it from the circle hint, but it wasn't the new word I tried and I'd already tried something else similar (with two different spellings)

@semantlename given the fact the new one starts soon I'll give a massive hint. It starts with the same letters as circle

@semantlename old Christmas lights used to get short ones, and the word is familiar in electronics and sport.

Sport clue is 2nd place pebble.

@thaegumathteth also messaged me that and I didn't see it until after I posted for help. I still couldn't click but I've just got it!!! Left it late but did not see that connection.
