Just saw something that said "if it costs you your peace it's too expensive" and I am thinking that's accurate for my current job.

Wonder if any more might help.

I don’t have to do anything I don’t want to do.

Don't fart when someone else is eating.

Treat people at least as nicely as you’d like to be treated and ideally even better than that.

Occasionally remind yourself that you need to put yourself first for once.

General try to be a 'good egg'.

You deserve what you tolerate.

Biscuits or cake in the afternoon, chocolate at night. Strawberry jam can only be eaten in the afternoon, never in the morning

Most people are really nice.

Certainly agree with that

@BobbyBobbyBobby
I don’t have to do anything I don’t want to do

This was my mum’s motto. She was a war/post war child and delighted in being ‘spirited’ and breaking away from the oppressive rules her parents and society imposed on her in the 1940s,50s and early 60s.

The thing is that from an early age I just wished she could behave like an adult. Being an adult involves 80% of the time doing things that you don’t want to do. And I think that’s fair enough. You get the privileges of an adult as compensation and anyway nobody, really nobody, in reality (as opposed to a resentful teenager’s daydream) really wants to just do what they feel like all the time.

Yeah this it would be wonderful in a world with just you in, but otherwise selfish especially if you are a parent too.
