Where the fuck have I hid the Xmas present

I buy Xmas presents throughout the year in an attempt at being organised. I'm so clever I even make a list of all gifts I buy on my phone (get me!)
However, I'm not so clever that I remember where I've hid them all! Went through the 'present cupboard' today and I can't find one of DS's important gifts. The one I know he's desperate for, and I know I've already bought it.....but can I find it? Can I heck as like!
I've searched the 'present cupboard', under the spare bed, in my bedroom drawers, in my wardrobe and still no joy. I've actually lost two presents but luckily one was only £2, however that's not the point!!
Anyone else as shit as me for putting things 'in a safe place'?

Are you absolutely sure your DS hasn't found it, roughed it up a little so you don't notice it's new and currently wearing it?

With the Christmas decorations? Airing cupboard? Boot of the car?

Definitely sure DS hasn't already found it. One - I would know; the top is very distinctive. Two - he wouldn't dare try it as he knows he's asked for it multiple times.

I am well known for doing that sort of thing.

I sometimes find things under things. Down parellel to the inside of a drawer. Or it doesnt quite look like the colour and shape I was imagining so miss it when looking.

I have found a couple of things in there before when I had mixed up the shopping I had brought in from the car.

So here's where it gets weird. I know I've bought it, I remember it being in my hand, DH is adamant he's also seen it yet I can't find it anywhere on my email or bank statement. Not helped by the fact I have no idea what website I would've bought it from!
I have however found a fleece blanket I was looking for 2 weekends ago. 😄
I'm now questioning my sanity and wondering if I've dreamt I've bought it, but I am positive I've had it in my hand. I wouldn't have written it on my list if not. I remember being super pleased with myself for getting it. It's not in the present wardrobe

Sometimes your brain needs time to bring that memory to the fore and it's best to just get on with other things whilst it's processing.

I'm even going to have to look in the dreaded under stairs cupboard - I hate going in there - I'll be in there for hours sorting through all the shit everyone throws in there when they can't be arsed to actually put stuff away. I hate that bloody cupboard!

Did you definitely buy it online? It might have come from a shop. Check DH's bank statement too if you don't share accounts in case he paid for some reason.

I always hid stuff at the back of the hot press wrapped in a couple of towels. A quiet prayer to St Anthony if all else fails.

I agree with PP that you could have put the package into another bag. You'll need to get everything out properly and look again. Also, you could be thinking it's in a different package, like imagining it's in a grey package but really it's brown and you're ignoring it when looking. Unpackage everything!

Was it in a box? Is it possible it's been thrown away if someone thought it was empty?

Weird you can't find it in your emails or bank though!!

I hide stuff in-between folded clothes in my deep drawers, then forget about them. Someone always gets a late Christmas present once I find where I hid it.

Never did find it or the other small gift.
I've torn the house to pieces but nothing.
I've had to re-buy it. Hopefully it'll get delivered in the next few days so I'm sure to find the original a couple of days after!!

This rings true, I've done that myself and I usually keep track of presents quite well. Do make sure you've looked through all the bags of items you have before you concede defeat!
