Does anyone buy Circadin from abroad?

I'm looking for recommendations of where to buy Circadin (slow release melatonin) online for delivery to the uk. There was a thread that mentioned this recently but now I can't find it.

Is that for 'jetlag'? I put it in quotes because my GP said he could prescribe it for 5 days for jetlag, but not regularly. He sympathised, but said he gets audited so would be asked questions. I suppose I could say I'm a pilot, but that's probably pushing things a bit far!

No - long term sleep issues. I have tried everything under the sun over the last 20 years. I didn't ask for it either but it was suggested to me.

read somewhere that you shouldnt use more than 5 mg because it messes with something in your own physiology. sorry cant remember what it was about

I've used iherb, pipingrock and biovea. For instant and time release melatonin. The brand of time release I have is Natrol.

How long does it take to work? I wake up a lot in the night and would love to stay asleep!

You're supposed to take it about an hour before bedtime. Circadin is "prolonged release" over 8-10 hours, to give you a proper night's sleep (www.circadin.com/). But the over-the-counter "slow release" melatonin products I'm seeing online probably aren't that good unfortunately.

I buy melatonin from biovia, never had an issue. Not sure about slow release, but it works for me.

Hi, have you managed to find anything suitable yet? I have used the same melatonin capsules for quite a few years now, after getting some on holiday in France (I think!) a few years back. They are double action (although actually technically triple), and are the same ones I've gone back to each time I tried a different one and have not bothered with any of the others.

I now buy them online from a French pharmacy (will need to double check the pharmacy I use). I did use to use a seller on Amazon initially, but I haven't found them on there for years now so just go back to the same place each time. Last year I bought 12 months worth to save p&p instead of every 3-4 months. I'll post a photo of back and front of box and will come back with the pharmacy I use. I don't have many left now but can probably spare a two week strip if you'd like to try them first? Btw, they are 1.9mg, which I've found to be the best strength, as lower doses seem to work better. And like you I wanted some that would help get me to sleep but also help me stay asleep.

@blooos trying to add a photo of the company name/address and a pic of what the capsules look like, but for some reason I can't seem to bring up the last two photos I took. They are gel capsules and are powder inside. I'd say maybe 5mmx10mm ish each. I've literally just opened a new pack to start tonight, and have also checked the website name on the box.

www.easypara.co.uk/mela-sommeil-30-tablets-sleep-govital.html

This is the page in English, with the details as written on the pack (although easy enough to read/understand in French, even with my 30+yr old gcse French!). Also, over time name in the top right corner (currently Alvityl) has changed over the years a couple of times, but it's the mela-sommeil name that's important - and the ingredients remain the same. I think that's about it really, obviously the disclaimers about "sleep hygiene" etc etc, particularly when you start will help these work so much better. I fall on and off the insomnia train all the time, but it's usually always my own 'behaviours' (if that's even the correct term) changing back in to bad habits or sometimes external influences rather than the capsules that are at fault. My actual own body clock is rather delayed, which is a constant fight against my own delayed, natural circadian rhythm, which I've had ever since I was a teen, so 30+yrs. I've always been a 'night owl', even school exams onwards I'd work/study/revise far better from mid/late afternoon until the early hours of the morning and it is something I was never able to change, including during uni etc. so I know I have other things to fight with when I've done something or something external has happened to tip me backwards into old ways and then I have to start again. But I can tell you that when I gave it a 'proper', go when I started with these same capsules a few years ago, it worked so well along with conscious changes myself, including slowly trying to trick my circadian rhythm in to being earlier and earlier, eg by taking the melatonin a little bit earlier each day etc. I had managed to make such a difference until after 6 months-ish we went on holiday and the clocks changed and I wasn't aware that extra hour of daylight would have such a massive effect and it put me back for a while. I'm now - hopefully - more prepared for things like this because I slip backwards so easily!
Anyhow - sorry, wasn't meant to be long! Let me know if you want to try two weeks worth (would send with box, obviously).

Thanks @Whatwaswrongwiththatusername. I will definitely look into those. I also ordered some 2mg slow release "gummies" from biovea. I know there is risk of varying quality in over the counter melatonin meds (e.g. this Canadian study: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5263069/). I don't know if French products are more reliable than US products, but it's good to hear you've had a positive experience on a low dose.

Good luck with them, would be interesting to hear if they've worked after a while.
