Unsolicited advice

Hello,

How do you deal with unsolicited advice?
Especially coming from family members about your DC?
My otherwise lovely mil loves giving us unwanted advice mixed with criticism about my baby.
My baby is absolutely fine and well looked after, I try not to take mil's comments to heart, but she is getting so much worse with her advice and strong opinions, it's hard to ignore.
I'm struggling to just let her comments go over my head and find myself constantly thinking about what she said.
Her rants usually last good 10 minutes. I've tried changing the subject she just says 'right, back to what I was telling you' and ignoring, which doesn't go down well.
Please share you tips!

Clasp your hands over your ears?

Water pistol?

Or, ‘I haven’t asked for your opinion!’

I always think about the penguins of Madagascar in this scenario "just smile and wave, just smile and wave" I'm getting so much better at ignoring peoples advice as I get older (40's) especially when it comes to your children. You know them best. It's best just to let them rant and nod away then change the subject and ignore. Opinions are like arseholes. Everyone has them

I loved a quote I saw once which said...

"Mil please stop telling me how to raise my child- I live with one of yours and I'm not that happy with your work" 😂🤣

I'm struggling to just let her comments go over my head and find myself constantly thinking about what she said I find preparing for the lectures and observing them like a sociological phenomenon is helpful. Imagine you are researching annoying MILs for a sitcom you are writing.
