Soup makers

Hi I am thinking of getting a soup maker but wondering if it'll be another gadget in the kitchen (that I wont use)
I want to make healthy lunches to take to work. If I made soup at home it would be in a pan on hob which takes a while.
Any thoughts please

Mine constantly blew all the fuses in the house. Apparently its a common problem. The couple of times I managed to use it the soup was lovely.

I make a pot of soup while I am cooking dinner, I hardly notice that I am chopping the extra veg. I make a big pot and it lasts me for days. A soup maker sounds like another useless gadget tbh.

I love mine! I use it every week during the autumn/winter, it makes 4 portions of soup which is lunch for the 4 days that I work. I know I could make soup in a pan with a blender but the consistency never seems to be right, the soup maker makes perfectly silky smooth soups which is how I like it.

I used to regularly make soup in a pan on the hob, and thought that a soup maker was a waste of space. But then my sister bought one for me, and I love it! It's so quick and easy. Just chuck everything in and turn it on. Sometimes me and DH have an afternoon making soup and then freezing it all. Great way to use up veg from the bottom of the fridge. Wouldn't be without it now.

I got one by Tower last year that makes smooth or chunky soup. I love it- it makes the most perfect soup everytime.

Littleguggi · 16/11/2022 22:04

I love mine, use it 2-3 times a week in the winter. I'd recommend getting one with a saute function for tastier soup.

I'm on my third. 🤣

The first (Morphy Richards) was great and I wore it out through constant use.

The second (R.....l H..bs) was awful and I got fed up and threw it away.

The current one (Tefal) is brilliant and my favourite out of the three.

It takes up the same space as a largish kettle. I keep mine in a cupboard and use it once, sometimes twice a week.

I use mine every couple of days. I’m currently dieting so make soup to eat for lunch and dinner.

It’s great, I just brown the meat and Chuck a load of frozen veg in with a stock cube, garlic salt and water and then use the blend function on it when it’s cooked after 28 minutes.

I love mine. Make a batch of soup on a Monday and it does me 4 lunches through the week. Was about £45 on Amazon

I can never blend soup properly with a stick blender.

AnApparitionQuipped · 17/11/2022 17:14

I like mine because you can sit and relax for 20 mins after putting the stuff in. Bought it in 2020 and still use it at least once a week.

dangermouseisace · 17/11/2022 17:18

I make my soup in my instant pot, so it's still a gadget but is used for other things too. Far less mess and it's quick.

Whitney168 · 17/11/2022 17:20

I cursed my husband when he bought me a soup maker, wondered what on earth I'd want such a thing for when I had a pan and a blender.

Use it all the time, so much easier and results are better - it's much smoother somehow. Would replace it in a flash if it died.

Morphy Richards jug kettle type one here. If you do buy one, check reviews - some make a lot more noise than others. The MR is just a brief bit a few times in the 21 minute time.

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/11/2022 17:21

I use mine weekly.

I use mine regularly. And not just for soup! I use mine for (tomato) sauce batch cooking.

DashingWhiteSergeant · 17/01/2023 15:43

I love mine

WorriedMillie · 17/01/2023 15:44

I’m not that impressed with the Morphy Richards one, ours didn’t last long, it wasn’t cheap and there have been some people on the FB group who’ve had issues with them

Not keen on spending a lot (for it to fail again) so considering one from Asda with the same capacity, which is £30ish
