Interview invite for my dream job. Zero experience!

As the subject reads...I've been invited to interview for my dream job.

I'm already employed in a role I genuinely love. It honestly doesn't feel like I'm going to work. I really do love it.

That said, I came across a role I loved the look of about 3 years ago. I didn't have the qualifications or experience for it so I never applied. Instead I used my previous experience to get my current job which is decently paid (33k) with excellent benefits (public sector).

Some part of me never got over the role I didn't apply for. It required a degree as well as professional membership which i don't have. It still does.

Since I've been in my current role, I've been studying the standards required by long lost role in the hopes that if it comes up again, I will be able to use 'self-study' in my CV.

The role was advertised again a few weeks ago. I applied half-heartedly and I HAVE AN INTERVIEW NEXT WEEK!

I'm beyond nervous.

Nothing in my work history gives me the right to apply for this role. The salary is the same as what I get now.

I don't know what I'm asking for here. Maybe some kind words of encouragement? Maybe somebody to tell me that without the qualifications needed, theyre just playing with me!?

Apologies for any mistakes, I got the notification at quarter past 11...

I need somebody to bring me back down to reality.

They wouldn't invite you for interview if they didn't think you couldnt do the job!

I've just got a lovely job which I didnt think at first glance I was good enough for - but turns out they absolutely love me! A friend told me - apply like a man! Think of the reasons why you can do the job, not focus on your perceived deficiencies...

I spent two full days preparing for interview - read as much as I could find about the charity, all the current issues, and loads of competency questions related to the subject area. Theres loads of suggestions on google. Thought of lots of reasons why I was the right fit...

It sounds obvious but will give you the confidence - you already have the passion!

Good luck!
