So not been feeling well around a week tested for covid and had a faint positive. I had no issues with breathing before but since finding out about covid I feel like I can’t breath properly and keep thinking the worst. I do have really bad anxiety specially related to health. I don’t know what to do freaking out all of a sudden. 😩😩

Being concerned for your health whilst you are ill is an entirely rational response!!

Do you live with anyone who can keep an eye on you?

It sounds like you need to rest and take care of yourself. If you're in UK, it's about bedtime. What helps you get a good night's sleep?

Do you have asthma or related breathing conditions? If you do, I guess you have done awareness of what it feels like and when it's bad for you. Try being mindful and figuring out where you are in terms of tightness so you can check in and see if you are ok. You probably know deep down what you need and what works for you

If you don't have asthma, then it might help to do some breathing exercises. Think about breathing in using you diaphragm. Breathe in slowly. Make sure you breathe out as much as you can before breathing in again. Often people forget to exhale when they are concerned about breathing enough. It sounds simple but it can really help

I think you're ahead of the game if you've been able to identify that it is anxiety and not the covid that's causing the change to your breathing and that's a really good thing.

Keep reminding yourself that you are well, that it will pass. If breathing exercises aren't helping ( I sometimes find hyperfocusing on my own breathing pattern makes things worse) then the only thing that really works for me is distraction. Get up and do something - a bath, a cup of tea, a book, stick some more TV on, and keep reminding yourself you are fine, that you know it's anxiety and that none of it will cause any serious effect on your health.

Hope you feel better soon OP!
