How do you take a photo of a mirror that does not show the reflection of the camera/photographer. I understand how you'd do it from the side, but how about front on photos like this. Do you take the photo as normal, and use photo editing software to remove the reflection?

A tilted lens
Photoshop

I think, might be wrong that photo looks as if it’s taken from slightly below. Or perhaps the mirror is slightly tilted?

Is he using a camera or phone? No flash and a slight angle.

He doesn't want to do it, he was just curious

Makes perfect sense! Thank you

It’s been photoshopped. The “glass” is just a grey image with a gradient on it.

They use special vampire photographers

Dinoteeth · 13/11/2022 08:46

Good question.
I'll assume they photoshop, but I don't know how they did it pre-photoshop.
A filter over the lens would make the whole image filtered.

Would they have done something to the mirror to stop it reflecting, like tissue paper or vasiline over the actual glass bit?

A polarising lens would remove reflections.

TheSilentPicnic · 13/11/2022 08:49

However it is done, there are a great many people who cannot do this. In fact there is a Facebook page dedicated to people selling mirrors 😂

Not reflections of the photographer, but reflections in the glass, like the reflections that you see in a window when you walk by.
