Ornaments

I have stuff that my DDs have given me over the years (photo frames, weird ornaments, lots of teapots because I like tea (but I'm literally the ONLY person in the house that drinks tea), etc, etc...
They all live wrapped up in a big box because I can't stand the clutter, and every so often I go through the box, unwrap the stuff, look at it then don't know what to do with it, so I wrap it all back up and put it back in the box.
I don't think I really want to keep the stuff, but DDs are young adults now and I don't want them to be upset if I get rid of the things they gave me, which were bought/given with love.
What would you do?

I would tell them exactly what you've said here.

KangarooKenny · 12/11/2022 17:01

Get rid. They are yours now, to do with them whatever you want.

Don't keep things you don't want out of guilt. Give them to a charity shop.

Ramble0n · 12/11/2022 17:07

I'd keep them.

CaronPoivre · 12/11/2022 17:07

Give to a charity shop. They'll never know. You can't keep everything.

ShellfishCrocodile · 12/11/2022 17:10

I wouldn't worry. My mum put my gifts I'd bought her years before, back into a charity shop bag, and let me rummage through before she was sending it down. She couldn't remember that it was me that bought half the stuff 😂 I'm not bitter, she was being nice seeing if I wanted anything first😁

Take a photo of them all, then donate

SparklyElf · 12/11/2022 17:14

Thanks everyone, I'm going to take photos and also have a conversation with DDs re not keeping the stuff (who knows, they may want to take some of it off my hands!) 😊
