UC work commit

Hi I just received a text saying I have to attend a commitments review on Wednesday but can't understand why? Has anyone ever had one? I've been claiming UC for a good few years now and haven't had one in all this time.

I have 3 DC - 10,7 & 1. I work 20 hrs term time and earn about £669 so I'm over the threshold for hours/income (even though I shouldn't have work commitments with a 1 year old).

Yes, we literally just ran through what I was doing and said it was fine. It was very pointless. I was able to do mine remotely from work though.

Mine lasted all of five minutes. The woman hadn't even looked at my file since she told me the wrong commitments. But it was fine. Since you're already doing more than required it's nothing more than a box ticking exercise.

Good to hear then! I get really nervous at these sort of things. The annoying thing is I'm working when the interview is and phoned them this morning but the guy on the phone was clueless and i left a msg on my journal but nobody has replied.

They're such a mixed bag for rearranging appointments. Some are super helpful if you're at work, others expect you to move heaven and earth for appointments.

Has your child just turned 1? That may have changed which work group you're in. Alternatively could your employer have reported your earnings late, making it look like you're no longer working? Check your last statement to see if it included earnings.

She was 1 in August. All my earnings are on each statement so I honestly have no idea why it would flag up and wages have been the same for the past 2/3 years with maybe a difference of £20-£30 max.

Perfectly normal and as your child is 1 you don't have actual work commitments as such but everybody needs commitments reviewed intermittently. You will be due appointments 4 times a year in theory but as working that may be adjusted
