How can I make my bath next level?

I don't have a lot of money. My days are stressful as I am a lone parent to a 4yo. My nightly pleasure is my lovely bath. Embarrassed to admit I'm using my son's spiderman bubble bath. Have never bought nice bath stuff for myself. Annoyingly I have a weird reaction to radox which I used to love! Any suggestions of beautiful smelling bubbles/oils/melts that will help me raise my bath game?

I love an evening bath. I have a nice candle on to save the brightness of the "big light". Warm towel from radiator. Soaking in Epsom salts is nice - get them cheap in Home Bargains. Molton Brown is nice smelling for bubble bath. A glass of wine and a face mask while you soak are good too. Enjoy!

Asda do a lavender one for a quid. The smell helps me sleep better.

TheSausageKingofChicago · 10/11/2022 21:12

I was just going to say Epsom Salts and a candle, but PP beat me to it!

Cheap bath foams are as good as expensive ones imo. I used radix but also imperial leather (often on offer) and lidl bath foam. I'd use any other non branded foam tbh. Don't waste loads of money. I don't usually have candles etc - just shutting the door is enough 🤣

I loves Fenjal. Quite often a third off at Boots. Smells amazing.

mynameisnotmichaelcaine · 10/11/2022 21:14

Imo Badedas is the best bubble bath ever. It's quite expensive, but a little goes a long way. I decided a couple of years ago that I was only ever going to buy Badedas for the rest of my life. You only get one life, and you need to make the most of small pleasures.

The only times I don't use Badedas now are if someone buys me a Lush bath bomb, or if I have a rotten cold, in which case I use Olbas Oil bubble bath. That's sensational too.

Cococomelon · 10/11/2022 21:15

I love a bath but don't have time as I often have a young child and once he's in bed, I am too! I like Epsom salts, bubble bath (l'occitane lavender is a favourite) and lush bath bombs.

I watch tv on my phone of listen to a podcast.

declutteringmymind · 10/11/2022 21:15

Wine!

redredwineub40 · 10/11/2022 21:21

Westland is great, and boots does a lovely Weleda lavender bath milk often on 3 for 2 or 1/3 off that's amazing.

Agree about bath foams, Waitrose has Argan oil rose bath range also on 1/3 off often that's lovely.

Schnoodle · 10/11/2022 21:23

Another vote for salts and a few drops of essential oil. Current fav, orange and clove!

kennl · 10/11/2022 21:26

Can highly highly recommend this. Tried lots of lavender products as i have trouble sleeping and this is the best

Recommend something like this - I love mine

seconding all the pp’s who suggested bath salts - these are my favourite

Alittlelost0 · 10/11/2022 21:32

Aldi do a great version of the sanctuary bath float. It's very bubbly and luxurious feeling! This is a great thread! I love a good bath, such a treat 😌

Branster · 10/11/2022 21:42

The absolute best is this one from Clarins

www.clarins.co.uk/relax-bath-shower-concentrate/C020102004.html

Ask for a sample from Clarins counter in case they have one. Or buy a small sample bottle from Vinted. Just to make sure you like the fragrance.

It smells clean and wholesome. I love the smell and wish I could find a perfume with an identical fragrance.

But it truly is relaxing, you feel your whole body relax with this one.

Otherwise Epsom salts or Dead Sea salt - reasonably priced if you shop around. No bubbles but it does do your body a lot of good.

Itisbetter · 10/11/2022 21:48

I would get epson salts and some essential oils.

VeronicaFranklin · 10/11/2022 21:50

I love a good bath! Since having my DD (4 months) I barely get chance now! It's the one little evening ritual I miss.

I always get my bath salts from TKMaxx or Homesense, they usually have Australian imported ones, big bags for about £7.99 but last ages, you only need a small hand full in your bath.

Home bargains do Westlab salts for about £1.99 which are similar.

What about some scented candles, and a bath caddy to read a book on - you can get wooden ones from Amazon.

For ultimate luxury Jo Malone do a Bath oil 30ml for £20, English Pear & Freesia is amazing, you only need 2/3 drops per bath so would last you a while especially if you only used it once a week or so.

Rituals do amazing bubble bath, one scented called Ritual of Sakura it smells sooooo good, £15 for 500ml.

Also get yourself a bath pillow!!

beonmywaythen · 10/11/2022 21:56

I make my own bath soak. Epsom salts plus Himalayan pink rock salts plus an essential oil like eucalyptus. It's soooo relaxing and you can buy in bulk to make it a lot cheaper xx

Luckypoppy · 10/11/2022 21:57

Badedas here too!

TheChosenTwo · 10/11/2022 21:58

Omg a nightly bath is my favourite indulgence! I have one every night during the colder months, (I do have a shower every morning before work and in the summer I have a quick cold shower before bed…) - usually a Lush bubble bar, a sanctuary bubble bath, Laura mercier bubbles, bath salts, whatever comes first to my hand in the cupboard! I usually light a couple of candles but I have to have the main overhead spots on as it’s too dark with just the candles and my bathroom is pretty small. Always considered one of those bath plank things but I don’t eat in the bath, I have a little shelf for my water (hot baths make me so thirsty) and I either prop my phone up on the little chair by the bath to watch Netflix or read a book which obviously I hold. Plus I’m so bloody
clumsy I can see myself kneeing the shelf and tipping it over 😂
Debating a bath pillow now…

TheChosenTwo · 10/11/2022 21:59

Have a couple of full bottles of JM bath oils but rarely use oils in the bath as I finish off with a shower and don’t want to slip plus if I’m not washing my hair I worry that bits will escape my clip and end up all greasy 🥴

Agnes2507 · 10/11/2022 22:00

The Bayliss and Harding natural bath soak from boots. Get lots of candles, a rack that goes across the bath to put a tablet to watch TV and a glass of wine. perfect!

TattiePants · 10/11/2022 22:04

I love lots of expensive bubble baths but honestly, I don’t think you can beat Aldi’s dupe of Sanctuary’s bath float (they do 2 different ones) for less than £2 a bottle. If you like it then stock up as they disappear for months.

DIY bubble bath:

•	4 cups of Water
•	4 oz Castille Soap (like Dr. Bronner’s, which you can buy scented or unscented, and it’s totally green and can be used for cleaning around the house and your body)
•	3 oz of either Glycerin* or Coconut Oil (both lather well and are skin softeners)
•	Essential Oil (like Lavender or Eucalyptus)
•	Container for your concoction (nonglass is best for near the bath)
•	Bath Tub
Nat6999 · 10/11/2022 23:05

Epsom salts & lavender essential oil & nice candles.
