7pm jitters, is this a thing?

Does anyone else get this? Pretty much every evening from around 7pm I get increasingly anxious and wired. Reaches its peak at around 7.30pm and then slowly subsides. It's regular enough that if I'm not watching the time, I can pretty much tell when it's 7.30pm because of how I'm feeling.

The Archers is on at 7pm. That'll take your mind off it.

Think I'd rather have the anxiety tbh Grin

Not at 7pm but I get this fairly consistently in the late afternoon to early evening. I'm a chronic procrastinator and think it might have something to do with feeling like the day's nearly over and I haven't got enough done, even on days where there's nothing specific I need to be doing.

I got this, post partum with my 2 girls. It was like a primal thing, dark= heightened risk of danger.

I have since struggled with anxiety and overcome it, and I think the hormones made it worse.

I found cutting out caffeine after 12noon (or completely if you can manage it) helps significantly!

I already don't have any caffeine after my morning cup of tea! Ugh, getting older is a ballache.

Well I say 'older', that should probably just be 'old'.

I was the same with my youngest ds. Had him in December and the days were so short so by 4 pm I’d be sobbing and unable to even eat as crying made me choke ! It was awful

I'm sure this is a proven thing. Related to hormones. As pp have mentioned, is quite common post partum.i had it terribly with my DD, a real sense doom and gloom, anxiety and jitters when it got dark. Quite scary actually.
No advice sorry - luckily for me it subsided as my hormones settled!

USaYwHatNow · 10/11/2022 21:48

I used to get it pre pregnancy. I'd have this sudden burst of the nervous jitters between 10pm-11pm each night without fail. Used to drive my husband nuts. It was a cross between hyperactivity and restlessness. I could've easily blitz cleaned the whole house or even gone for a run. Now I have a 10 week old that's knocked it on the head 😂

Titsywoo · 10/11/2022 22:09

How old are you? Perimenopause? I feel jittery a lot now and I'm definitely in peri.

LoveBluey · 10/11/2022 22:14

Ooh I've definitely got this since having my second DD. I hadn't thought it could be linked to being post partum.

rainbowninja · 10/11/2022 22:17

Yes! Mines worse in winter and
more 6pm than 7pm but it’s like clockwork, jittery is a good way to describe it. It improves after I’ve eaten my evening meal so I feel like it could be blood sugar related too.

I'm 41 but I'm getting a lot of peri symptoms. From a previous GP conversation though I get the impression it'll be a battle to convince them before I hit the magical mid-40s benchmark.
