Haven't travelled in a few years.
Went on holiday last week
2 breakfasts and a pint and a gin came to £47!!
£47
Is this the norm? I honestly fell into my chair

Does noone look at the prices before they order these days?

Yes we did check the prices and had decided to treat ourselves but since the thread was about airport prices I thought I would share it.

Am I the only person who didn't know lounges do food?? Off to Google....

Don’t rely on on it. In my experience, the food in airport lounges varies widely in quality, variety and quantity.

18 dollars for a glass of pinot grigio at toronto pearson.. it was cheap stuff...same stuff i sell as our house wine at my restaurant for 6.99 a glass...a much BIGGER glass...but as PP say...captive audience. Plus most flying out and already in holiday mode and willing to pay more...or at least not care at the moment

29 US dollars at JFK for a white wine!

Exactly. I used the lounge at Manchester Airport as I had time to kill but the food was very beige snacky, fine if you like that sort of thing, but disappointing if you wanted a proper meal.

Manchester Airport has Greggs, £3 for a breakfast roll and a drink!

Stansted last month, two breakfasts and two unlimited hot drinks - £32.00.

We were at Bristol Airport in June and looking for something to eat. £18 for Macaroni cheese in one restaurant. We ended up at Tortilla having a burrito which was £7 and got to say it was amazing, the best one I've had since I was in california and great value for money as it was huge. We normally go to the mcdonalds or wetherspoons at Gatwick as they don't massively hike up their prices.

Was about to mention them as well. My daughters had the breakfast one before we flew in half term and it was great value for money.

We flew from Manchester in September. The hot food was chilli and a pasta dish. Both had plenty of sides as well. There was also snack food etc.

We ate very well! 😁

I was at the airport in San Francisco a few weeks ago when the pound was virtually worth the same as the dollar.
I had a small turkey sandwich and a 10 ounce glass of juice, counter service, for 19.50 dollars. Not even a bag of crisps with it. I thought that was ridiculous but reading PPs, it's not the worst!
Oh, and the card machine suggested I add a 25% tip to my final price. Nope, not for counter service.
