Do you believe there is life outside of planet earth?

It's a given there's something more boring like fish or whatever, on another planet far away. That seems to just be common sense (says the woman who knows nothing about science!)

But do you believe there's intelligent life form?

My mind is blown tonight as I sit in the bath and wonder 'how can it be that there was nothing and then something. Surely something must come from something but how did that very first atom or whatever come to be?'

This is why I can't get away from the belief there's a God. Because everything has to come from something and the only answer to me seems to be that thing is benevolent and I just can't get my head around it because I'm a simple human

I think there’s a misconception that religion and science are separate. I think they are one and the same you don’t have to pick one or the other

People are saying there might be intelligent life but they're a different time to us for now, what do you mean?

Surely if it's 2022 in Spain, planet earth, it's still 2022 in planet Peeley, just as likewise it's still 459000 in planet earth to them etc? We are all experiencing 'the now' at the same time surely?

They might have evolved and gone extinct before Homo sapiens had evolved, maybe before the earth formed. Other planets might be on the pathway to intelligent life but still be at a very early stage.

Tentatively yes. I'd certainly like to think so.

I think there is, but I think it would be in a form that humans can’t comprehend. I think it would be like nothing found on Earth, maybe something that can’t even be seen by the human eye. But I think whatever it is it is intelligent and that’s why it stays away from Earth.

I don’t believe we are so special as to be the only intelligent life in the vastness of space and time.

I do understand that we are so insignificant in the grand scale of space and time that the odds of actually being able to contact another life form are very low. Perhaps if our species survives long enough we will be able to advance our scientific understanding enough to make those distances less insurmountable, but I just don’t know if we have what it takes to make it that long.

Yes I’d stay away from Earth as well if I were them!
Perhaps they are trying to learn from our mistakes, so they don’t mess up their own planets.
