Fingerless gloves

Windtunnel · 08/11/2022 19:17

Oh god I remember! Cups of tea, remembering to move around....

Gsds · 08/11/2022 19:19

Personally I had to set up in the smallest room of the house as it’s always the warmest and I have an electric throw on the back of my chair, just turn it on for half hour and wrap it over

BapsOfPlenty · 08/11/2022 19:22

I have thermal socks, a heated throw and heated fingerless gloves (I got mine from Amazon).
Apparently wrist warmers are also great at keeping your hands warm too

Redannie118 · 08/11/2022 19:22

Have you been told you have Raynauds? It sounds like you do.
Silver threaded gloves. They are very fine knit and you can easily write/type with them. Layer those with wrist warmers, cashmere if you can afford them. Turtledoves do really nice recyled cashmere and often have special offers on them. If you buy handwarmers, tuck them inside the wristwarmers next to the pulsepoints and they will warm the whole hands without getting in the way of the fingers.

I'll check amazon, those gloves sound promising @BapsOfPlenty

Fingerless gloves - I have a pair like these www.seasaltcornwall.com/malva-fingerless-merino-cashmere-gloves which are excellent because the arm bit is really long so they completely cover my wrists and tuck up my sleeves. They are very warm.

RockAndRollerskate · 08/11/2022 19:24

Move around more. When you make a cuppa, do a lap of the house or run on the spot etc.

PortalooSunset · 08/11/2022 19:24

I saw USB heated fingerless gloves the other day. With a flap to turn them to mittens, so if you're watching a presentation/in a zoom meeting and don't need to type you can get a boost of extra warmth.

FayeGovan · 08/11/2022 19:25

No raynaulds. Just no heating on.
In Scotland, cold and damp in the summer here....

Fingerless gloves are great. They keep the blood warm through your wrist and hand, which helps keep the fingers warmer. I swear by them in winter.

CallieQ · 08/11/2022 19:28

Fingerless gloves

Quveas · 08/11/2022 19:29

Lots of suggestions here. But, if you aren't exaggerating about the cold, then your home is dangerously cold or there's a problem causing your hands to be that cold. And I say that as someone who prefers a cooler home than most, but had to be careful about peripheral cold in one foot due to previous surgery.

BamBamBilla · 08/11/2022 19:31

Compression gloves.

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 08/11/2022 19:32

I have usb heated, fingerless gloves. I find when my hands are cold, the backs of my hand basically feel like they're burning.

thecatsthecats · 08/11/2022 19:35

Build in breaks for 10m walks. I walk before I start work and mid morning.

Circulation is the key, not external heat.

StrawberryFizz27 · 08/11/2022 19:38

I have an old little finger injury, and my finger gets so cold it's painful. Fingerless gloves don't work so I'm following this with interest.

magicstar1 · 08/11/2022 19:43

I bought a blanket with sleeves on Amazon recently as I have the same problem. It's perfect because the sleeves come down over my hands but I can type freely. It was less than £20 too.

ThunderMoo · 08/11/2022 19:45

I bought some of those turtle dove fingerless glove things

caringcarer · 08/11/2022 19:46

Turtle Dove wrist warmers keep fingers warm.

Squeezedsquash · 08/11/2022 19:49

Try and move during the day. Is there a meeting you’re off camera for and can do some squats, or even 10 minutes round the block?

declutteringmymind · 08/11/2022 19:50

Maybe take some garlic capsules to boost circulation?

Unexpecteddrivinginstructor · 08/11/2022 19:51

Slightly left field but have you tried using dictation? Even WORD's inbuilt package is good, then you can keep your hands inside your jumper/oodie/blanket. Does depend on what you are typing.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 08/11/2022 19:51

I have a tiny oil filled radiator (500w) which I put under the desk right next to my feet. In that small space it heats me perfectly when I need it.

Can't add any new insights but just wanted to say I love your username OP 😆
