It's OTC medication
Nurofen and some tablets for a upset stomach
Do these go in my handbag or check in case?

I'd day hand luggage in case your hold luggage goes missing or gets left behind. Makes certain you've got it if you need it! :)

Yes they can go in your clear bag to go through security and then into your hand luggage, so you have access to them on the plane

It doesn't need to go in the clear plastic bag if it's not liquid.

If vital medication, I'd say half in hand luggage, half in hold and take more than you need in case either bag gets lost/stolen.
For neurofen/stomach medication hand luggage will be fine. Both easy to buy anywhere if you lose some.

It does if it's "gels" like those nurofen capsules that aren't tablets.

This. I always keep the cardboard packet with the sticker on it in my hand luggage. And take a photo of the packet just in case.
