What food / drinks have the biggest mark ups?

I was standing this morning ordering a coffee - latte with non-dairy milk and the price has shot up, like many other things. I started to think about what food and drinks have the biggest mark up financially when you buy ready made rather than make at home.?

I normally take a coffee with me but was running really late this morning and so grabbed one on the way. Well I intended to grab one on the way - I actually put myself off it with overthinking the costs involved.

I reckon coffee and sandwiches must be waaaaaay up there.

Sunday roasts are probably another example of severely over-inflated prices whilst eating out.

Butter. Specifically Lurpak pretend butter.

Tea. Teabags (if you shop around) haven't really changed in price much, although milk has.
I run the refreshments for a sports activity, and we make masses of profit on cups of tea.
Cake is good profit too - a 9" cake can be cut into 14 x £1 slices, and is often donated or costs very little if made with margarine not butter, but in summer the big money spinner is cream teas, and scones - scones are very cheap to make.

Pizza 🍕

Pizza prices really upset me. It's basically bread, tomato sauce, cheese and a sprinkling of toppings and Dominos can charge £20 for one!

Agree with cake definitely, and it's a long time since I've seen a piece of cake for sale at only £1. Coffee shops and garden centres charge anything up to about £3.95 for one slice of gateau.

Soup in cafes and restaurants has a huge mark up.
