Consultants at CRGH London

I wonder if you could possibly recommend any consultants at CRGH London? I heard good things about Dr Saab but that's about it.

After having very negative experience at LWC (it was closest to me) decided to go ahead with CRGH. They have brilliant success rates and I'm also quite keen on embryology expertise they seem to have. It's just fertility MOT for us that I want to do for now.

It would be great if you could share any feedback 💐

I think we saw Dr Al Chami and he was very nice and open with us. I also had an appointment with Dr Seshadri and I didn't like her so much. She was also running late a lot of the time.

Very sad to see what is written about Dr Seshadri and I couldn’t keep quiet…. After 7 miscarriages she got us our little girl
she was always honest, optimistic and extremely supportive of us
Actually have heard the other consultant Dr Al Chami shouting at the nurses in the clinic
Dr Seshadri probably ran late as she never interrupts the sessions and gives her best to every person

@BoredOfRain hello! Sorry I know it's an old post but wondered how you got on with CRGH? We have a consultation with Dr Saad in January. It's sooo much more expensive than the other clinics we're looking at and just looking for experiences to understand if it's worth the additional cost. For example it's £4K more expensive than Lister for exactly the same treatment.... thanks xx

Hello

Dr Saab was our consultant (quite a few years ago now). We had a really great experience with CRGH and have two children. His wall was covered in baby photos - I sent him pictures of ours when they were born to add to his collection.

@CruCru that's lovely! Thanks for replying! Congratulations on your 2 children!
We don't have a huge budget so can ultimately only afford 2 rounds as need ISCI so I want to be confident in using him. Did you have any complications in particular he helped overcome?
I have very low AMH (0.41) and want a doctor who tailors the protocol to give us the best chance ❤️
Thanks again xx

@smashedbanana I've gone through egg collection and 2 unsuccessful transfers (just found out this morning it's chemical). I would recommend looking into access fertility packages if you can. I'm sure Saab is good specialist but so far it seems he's been using generic protocol (not saying it's wrong but I didn't feel it was modified for my needs as much). I chose him because of recommendations. In consultations I find he talks a lot about generic stuff rather than talking about my unique case. I think for the coming consultation I will do better homework and will challenge him more. I'm having another embryo from this collection and then I might reconsider using a different specialist. It could be my personal preference too. I don't click with him. But ultimately I want to achieve live birth so went based on my research rather than anything else.

I think overall CRGH is good, however, their patient liaison team is awful. Absolutely awful. If I handled things the way they do at work, I wouldn't last long. But I had experience with other London clinic before and they all seem as bad as each other from that perspective. from medical point of view I can't fault CRGH for anything.

If I had to make my choice again, I would look again into the cheapest option. There's nothing wrong with either of us (not that we know) and the chances of it working per transfer are fairly low. So need to prepare having to have more than 1 transfer (and hope it won't be needed!). I went in with high expectations but unfortunately had them crushed so just trying to be rational/ practical now instead.

I’m really sorry to hear that, OP.

Hi smashedbanana! I have polycystic ovarian syndrome but I had a round of IVF well over a decade ago so can’t remember the details I’m afraid. I remember that Dr Saab said my chances were very good (which was true).

We had Dr Serhal 11 and 10 years ago. It's an excellent clinic and the doctors tend to follow clinic protocols so I think really any of the doctors would be fine.

@BoredOfRain how did things go?
I'm considering going with CRGH after an unsuccessful experience at Lister and have a Mini Consultation scheduled with CRGH in the next few weeks.
When you say "doing homework" before next appointment what do you mean? My main issue is, I was given a certain drug protocol at Lister which didn't work great (13 eggs retrieved, only 8 mature, all 8 fertilised, only 3 made it to day 5/6 and none were euploid) and I'd love to give Lister a final chance by asking if they'd change the protocol at all for next cycle / ask CRGH what they'd change but the problem is I don't know what I'm looking for in their answer? Ie if he says "we'd give you more of drug X and less of drug Y because it would cause more eggs to mature" I'd have no clue whether that's the correct answer!!! What kind of "homework" can I do?
