School friend's birthday presents

How much do you spend on birthday presents when your child is invited to a class party?

DC has been invited to a joint party for 3 class mates. He's not particularly good friends with any of them. I would usually spend £10-£15 each on a present but having to buy 3 at once makes it a very expensive party! But I don't want to look cheap if I spend less!

WWYD?

The Works currently have 3 decent things on for £15!!

If its a full class party my go to is a tenner in a card with box of malteasers to open.

I just don't think any kid needs (or parents want) 20 x £10 gifts.

I try to limit it to a fiver spent on a present or in the card.

The parents hosting the joint party should have been clear about how they expected presents to work. They could have shared out the invitations or something. As they haven’t, I’d get 3 cards, put a fiver in each and maybe a small packet of haribo if I was feeling generous.

I would go for a bag of sweets or something small and a fiver each in a card. You can't be expected to spend 15 on each.

Op I missed the joint party bit, fiver in a card, and a box of malteasers.

They won't be expecting you to spend £10-15 on each of them.

I’ve started buying the works sets which are two for £12 and if you pick carefully have some good stuff; I definitely don’t spend more than £10
