Is this advice from Rentokil right?! Mice/rats

They’ve left poison. First time only 70% was eaten which they said was a good sign that probably all that were in the vicinity had eaten it. However heard much more mild scratching last night so I think a couple still hanging around. I want to block off the air bricks with mesh as it seems that’s where they are coming in potentially but the rentokill advice was to wait so they can still exit and hopefully die outside? But where does that end? Surely more will come in if it’s left open and then the whole thing starts again? And how do you know all will go outside to die, it’s feasible some will still be in the attic isn’t it when they die? So stressed about this because of kids.

also, there’s a strange urine smell in one of the bedrooms directly under where the majority of the scratching was. There’s no evidence of droppings in the room so I don’t think they’ve been in but why is there this smell? Is it dangerous?

Ask Rentokil? It'll stink if they die in the walls and compose there.

@WeAreTheHeroes i have…? I questioned it and they just said to wait with no further explanation other than they hoped they would leave. I agree it would stink! But how do you know they’re going to leave at the precise time they die from poison. I don’t get it and just want to block everything up

In lockdown we had a bad case of mice.
I worked out they were running between the gaps in the stairway from the upstairs bedroom to the understand cupboard - getting out from there and running freely downstairs.

This was 1st lockdown and we were shielding

I spoken to a friend who had used rentokill and bought the pellets off amazon.

After they stopped being scattered, so eaten I just blocked off the holes in the skirting boards they were getting through, and used expandable foam to fill every hole I could see outside that wasn't necessary.

Yes, I probably have dead mice in my staircase but I've never smelt them - not even "fresh" ughhhhhhhhhhh

It was horrible, I hope you get it cleared up soon
