Build up in hair

My teenage DD’s hair never seems to get fully clean. There’s a particular large patch behind her ear that always looks greasy, even if she’s just washed it.

We’ve tried double washing, making sure it very well rinsed, using different shampoos (even classic Head and Shoulders) but always the same

is it silicone build up ?

any ideas for how to clear this?

she has long, very thick hair if that makes any difference

i’m going to town in a few mins so if anyone has a suggestion for a wonder product I can have a look for it!

Make a baking soda rinse. Mix with a little water into a paste and rub it all through x

Fairy washing up liquid. It is kind to hands so won’t irritate her scalp and it removes all grease but cleans hair without stripping it.

I use a clarifying shampoo once a week. Currently I'm using the OGX Apple Cider Vinegar one.

She needs to make sure she's rinsing properly and not overloading her hair with product. If it's around her ears that sounds like part of the issue.

Another vote for Fairy liquid, advised by a friend who’s a hair dresser.

I use XHC stuff day to day. It's lovely and a quid in savers.

I figured it was due to not rinsing properly…

thanks for the suggestions. That’s this evening’s job!

Is she really scrubbing her scalp when she shampoos? I find that helps. And conditioner on the ends only.

You can DIY an apple cider vinegar cold water rinse after washing - just Google for ratios. Cheapest option & effective.
