I've just discovered BBC Archive which has lots of vintage clips and interviews including this clip of a 2 year old farmer. m.youtube.com/watch?v=dIHbGiDJ_n4

What else am I missing out on?

All the urbex explorer channels like Adam Mark Explores where they seek out abandoned houses and other buildings like theme parks, old hospitals and police stations etc and have a good old nosey. I fell down that rabbit hole about a month ago and still going!

Random clips of erupting volcanoes, the last one being Stromboli. I've also recently found that there are live cams all over Iceland, and I occasionally spend time watching Icelanders doing not very much and their scenery doing nothing at all. Sometimes their scenery does surprisingly do spectacular things all of a sudden, and you never know...

I’ve been down that one too Lolacat. It’s fascinating.

also rip tides, square waves and other weird sea/ocean phenomena.

Weirdly, air traffic control (and specifically Kennedy Steve). Started by watching travel vlogs and the algorithm started showing me these videos, but now I can’t stop 🤣

Korean street food.
Documentaries on dying arts or niche skills like lacemaking, kimono making, traditional Japanese swordmaking, making cheese by hand, etc.

Aww this is amazing, thanks for sharing.
I have been recently watching Hannah Hauxwell documentaries on YouTube. Hannah was a very interesting character.

I’m also in the urbex rabbit hole. My favourite is the proper people. We bought YouTube premium just for this!

A woman called Cecilia who lives on Svalbard. I'd love to go there. She has lived there for 6 years and built a life for herself and acquired lots of knowledge about living in such an extreme environment.

God I just love YouTube.

JCS - Criminal Psychology videos

They are fascinating! US interview tapes for people commited off serious crimes with an analysis of their body language and language. Watched them all and wish there were more!

Lolacat1234 · 04/11/2022 21:09

Also and this maybe not for everyone as a bit morbid at times but I find it fascinating - Adventures With Purpose - it's two guys with sonar equipment who devote their expertise to finding cars underwater and providing closure in many missing persons cases quite a few successfully. They are extremely compassionate and respectful and nothing morbid or gruesome actually shown on camera. It can be really emotional. They find all sorts though and there are some fun ones not just the heavy ones x

A man in America who sorts out cows' hooves, very calming and satisfying

VanillaImpulse · 04/11/2022 21:16

I like finding old series from tv like from 70s/80s, reminds me of my childhood. There is a series called Beasts with a very young Pauline Quirke in it I enjoyed
