Hello,
this might sound like a weird request but I don’t spend much time at home and I would really like to. I always seem to just go out and mooch around for no reason.

tomorrow I’d love to take the dog for a walk and then not go sit in a cafe but come home to a lovely breakfast spread, really make it something delightful to luxuriate in.

im trying not to eat any sugar (just chocolates sweets biscuits etc) and am avoiding bread but other than that, I’m pretty much game to try/eat anything as long as it’s delicious.

what would you do/go for??

thanks mumsnet!!

A fry up with a huge homemade cheese and onion hashbrown.

Or chicken congee with a soft boiled egg 🥚

Chopped red onion fried up with chilli flakes, pour in a tin of beans. Make a couple of wee wells in the beans, crack two eggs into the wells and cover the pan for a few minutes. Gorgeous.

@Nightynightnight - that sounds good !

I've kept meaning to post but it's not really for this time of year. My favourite if it's not a cooked option, is to layer a sundae glass with little pieces of mixed melon, greek yoghurt, homemade granola and a compote. Depending on what's available I make blueberry, raspberry, rhubarb or plum. something with a bit of sharpness against the melon and the granola sweetness. The melon is usually galia and cantaloupe varieties. If I have it I add a bit of watermelon too. It all looks very pretty to serve and I've got some of those long sundae spoons. I had it in a hotel once and like to replicate it now at home.

Lately I've been having plum compote and granola on top of porridge to warm me up a bit. I say compote, really it's just stewed down plums without anything else added.

small american pancakes with crispy streaky bacon, a drizzle of maple syrup and a fried egg on top breakfast of the gods

I love the breakfast muffins which are on the BBC Good Food recipe site. They have apple and blueberry in them.

You can make pancakes with mashed banana and no sugar. Thick Greek yoghurt, berries, drizzle of honey, seeds. Breakfast of the gods.

I can’t help thinking that that is heavily loaded with sugar.

Bacon, avocado, some sort of tomato and a bit of chilli. Sweetcorn fritter.

Chopped apple, banana and some raspberries. Proper Greek yogurt and granola. My new favourite breakfast after having it on holiday recently. Or English muffin, bacon and poached egg.
