Plantar fasciitis pain - boot/shoe recommendations?

Can anyone recommend any boots, or shoes, for plantar fasciitis?

Really struggling with PF pain in one heel. I'm on my feet a lot at work (teacher, but the always walking around type!).

I like stylish chunky soled boots; think Zara, H&M.

Budget is up yo £100 ish.

My Fly London MES boots really help my pain.

You need a shoe/boot with a heel lift (NOT a completely flat shoe). You can buy heel lifts for PF that go in your shoe. Trainers are probably your best bet for comfort if your job allows it?

If you get a custom insole made, you will be able to insert it into any pair of shoes.

Strive, FitFlop and Vionic are all good for plantar fasciitis.

I find varying my footwear helps and you can also buy good insoles.

This is such a bad advice
I was told the same, my pf got worse and worse
It eventually healed when I started wearing flat, wide toe box shoes with flexible sole
You need to sort out your calf and your arch and your hip too

OhMammaMia · 04/11/2022 08:35

Sorry, my reply was to the raised heel GingerPigz suggested

I got inserts for my shoes and the physio gave me exercises to do.

Thank you all, I will take this advice on board.

I work at a podiatrist clinic. I'm
not medically trained nor am I claiming to be an expert - but I know the advice that we give and the science behind it. I also have PF and have found that heel lifts have really helped.

Get gel insoles, or a gel heel insert.

And never ever wear anything flat like Converse, or anything that isn’t attached to your foot like sliders and flip-flops.

gettingalife · 05/11/2022 06:48

Flat boots with ankle support, preferably laced was my podiatrist's advice. Keeps your ankle in position and the flat sole stretches the calf muscle. Anything with a heel shortens it. Sadly I haven't found any unfrumpy boots yet that fit that criteria so live in trainers!

Sketchers have cured my PF , I bought two pairs of shoes and the slippers and wear nothing else.

I think it depends also where on the plantar fascia your ‘itis’ is… I turned my ankle running a half marathon and developed what felt like a deep tear in the sole of my foot from toe to heel, right down the middle. That was Also PF and not what I’d thought of as PF eg a heel pain. It does all come from your calf though so some calf stretches etc prescribed by a sports therapist will help. If you can possibly afford to see a sports therapist privately, I would highly recommend it as they will be able to tell exactly where your pain is coming from and exactly what’s causing it. Mine charges £55 per appointment and it’s well worth it.

I'm wearing the Fitville trainers, they are helping with the plantar pain
