Does anyone here have breast asymmetry?

Ever since I was 12, my breasts were noticeably different. They were different sizes. I was probably a B cup on one side and I was much smaller on the other side. I don't have a size for the other side but I reckon it's probably an AA cup. My mother took me to the doctor when I was 12 and the doctor siad they would even out but they never did. The larger breast grew into a C cup. The smaller side remained the same.

By the time I was 17 and 18 I was so embarrassed to go back to the doctor.

I'm not going to say my age now. I am older. I had somewhat of an OK attitude about this for years. But now that I am getting older, even filling the smaller side doesn't cover up the problem. The larger breast is beginning to sag and droop and smaller side just points out.

I hate looking in the mirror because it looks awful. My partner never said anything about them. I am never fully naked in front of him. I wear my bras when it comes to love making. I am lately becoming more self conscious of them. I hate them. I am not in the UK where maybe the NHS might give free surgery to me. I am in another EU. I don't know how much surgery is. I can't afford it anyways due to other loans and commitments.

I read online about natural breast enchantment or natural breast enlargement. Has anyone here tried it. Does it work?

This is a picture I found online about the tanner stage of breast development and I reckon, the smaller breast for me is at stage 3. It never grew beyond that. There's very little volume in the breast. If you were to see very large morbidly obese men they would ahve man boobs. Thats what it would look like.

I noticed a sudden, quite significant asymmetry three years ago, at the age of 55. This is how I've been mis'treated' by the NHS;

The first GP I saw was an idiot who stammered that it was mastitis and gave me antibiotics. My husband told him not to be ridiculous and to refer me to the Breast Clinic, which he did to get rid of us.

At the Breast Clinic most staff were lovely but the horrible old hag radiologist talked down to me and told me I was making a fuss about nothing (having been worried sick for five days waiting for the appointment). She was really sarcastic and demeaning and I made a complaint about her attitude, for what that was worth.

I saw my then GP who squinted at my boobs and ridiculously said: 'I'm guessing it's the left one', like the idiot he was. He referred me to my nearest teaching hospital, Leeds.

I went to LGI and was talked to atrociously by an up-her-*rse 'Consultant' who told me: "If you think you're going to get a breast reduction on the NHS you will be disappointed". I had not said a word about that - all I wanted was a diagnosis and/or reassurance.

I saw a private consultant at our local Spire who was unable to download the images of my mammogram by the old bag two months beforehand and could not give an informed opinion - £150 wasted.

I requested another appointment at my local Breast Clinic where I was seen by a lovely doctor, thorough mammogram and scan were done and I finally felt reassured, it was only cysts, probably to do with my age.

I was then recalled after a routine mammogram this year due to a suspected abnormality - it turned out, this was in my 'normal sized' breast.

I went to the appointment and saw the chief doctor there who was absolutely lovely, totally reassuring and said there was NAD, thank goodness. She, in common with all the other doctors, emphasised that asymmetry is common and nothing to worry about.

In summary, I am still frustrated about the situation NOT because of how they look but because I am worried about the discrepancy. However, after wasting my time as described above, and the way I was patronised and mistreated at LGI, I cannot tell you that your concerns will be taken seriously, unfortunately.

Sorry to be so negative but the whole experience has been really frustrating to me. I hope you are able to find a solution to your issues with less mistreatment than I have experienced.

There's a woman on tiktok who has breast asymmetry and she has a condition known as poland syndrome.

I googled poland syndrome and images and loads came up and this image is one of many. My breasts look exactly like this. I never got a formal diagnosis though.

Hi I know it’s been a while since you posted. I also have Poland syndrome. I had a smaller and a larger implant fitted by NHS just over 10 years ago. However it took about 3 years of fighting for funding and getting an MP involved to get the op. It was stressful as you build yourself up thinking it’s gonna happen quickly but it dosent. But now it’s even harder to get funding it’s considered cosmetic. I need mine redoing as after having 3 kids, weight loss and weight gain they are again uneven. Although as I’m older I don’t actually care as much but I will be looking to have the surgery again. But most likely have to fund myself. I will say the relief and happiness I had after the first op would be worth paying for. I understand you and how you’re feeling. I had to get a diagnosis from a private plastic surgeon on a free consultation before nhs would Consider sending me to one of theirs for a consultation as GP didn’t have a clue. If you can do the same and get the diagnosis from a professional you might be in a better area for funding as it’s like a funding lottery depending where in the country you are.
