Advice needed —overwhelmed

I am currently pregnant with a welcome, but surprise 4th baby. I work full time and am also doing a big renovation on a property. My husband is supportive, my kids are generally easy going….but I just feel completely overwhelmed. My back is also completely killing me. I’m Tearful and not coping. Any advice for how to get through the next ten weeks until baby arrives?

My advice would be to just focus on the things that are vital.

Make a list and aim to get them done in the next 10 weeks.

Btw, nothing at work will be vital although your employers will disagree.

Then remind yourself that all your hormones are trying to get you to ready to just focus on delivering your baby safety. Everything else is probably unachievable right now.

Start cutting all the extra stuff out.

And remind yourself that very soon you will have a lovely squashy baby. I am so utterly jealous Flowers

That does sound a very tough situation. You can't do everything - at least not all at once, so I would suggest prioritise the important stuff...
Most important - your health - Perhaps take 2 weeks sick leave from work to rest, physically and mentally. Think about taking an earlier maternity leave after that?
Can you put the renovation on hold for a year or so?
If your financial situation allows, consider making things a little easier for yourself in the short term - easy meals/ pre prepared meals, cutting down on commitments as much as possible. Do you have family nearby who could help out?

Thank you all. Speaking a lot of sense. It’s difficult with work as I am a teacher and care a lot about my students and don’t want to affect their exams even further by taking time off before my maternity. It’s kind of more stressful leaving the renovation as we are currently living in just two rooms and the ones needing doing are just concrete floors and it’s driving me mad. It feels a bit like living in a squat. The structural work is just starting but won’t be done in time for babies arrival. My washing machine broke 8 weeks ago and no one will fix it! We’ve eventually have called the manufacturer and they have cancelled for the fifth time today! I’m definitely going to consider an early maternity, and am just going to do ‘good enough’ lessons at work. Survive rather than thrive! I’ve only been back two days but I am exhausted.
