Recommend me a hard crunchy snack for a 2yr old

My 2 yr old DD seems to love snacking on hard/crunchy food. She enjoys uncooked pasta & rice (and cat biscuits when she can sneak into the cupboard unseen).
I'm looking for recommendations of other foods she may enjoy. Thank you!

Pretzels (not loads though as they're really salty)
Breadsticks
Granola
Celery

Carrot sticks
cucumber sticks
oat crackers (seeded ones are delicious)

Justworkplease · 31/10/2022 21:13

Breadsticks, rice cakes & oat cakes are all favourites of my DSs

Breadsticks - my 2yo loves the mini ones.

Are roasted chickpeas a chocking hazard? If not, they're quick and easy to make.

NotRainingToday · 31/10/2022 21:18

Ginger nuts

VintageVest · 31/10/2022 21:18

Oatcakes. The fruit and nut ones are particularly hard and crunchy. Very nice though.

MistyFrequencies · 31/10/2022 21:18

Breadsticks. Raw carrot. Naures Valley Oat Bars.

Skiphopgoosebumps · 31/10/2022 21:19

Unsalted pretzel sticks, sometimes you can find them in the world food aisle (Polish section) of the supermarket or in Polish shops.

Swedish hard-bread
Celery
Raw carrot

These are delicious, healthy and easy to make. I used to cut mine into letter shapes when mine were little, but you could use cookie cutters in pretty patterns for a similar effect

Cheerios with no milk on them

Dogtooth · 31/10/2022 21:45

Peppers or fennel cut into little strips

Pomegranate has a great crunch
That pain grille french toast hard bread stuff

Croutons are easy enough to make
Or crisp up wraps/tortillas in a dry frying pan

Nuts when she's old enough

Some great suggestions here, thank you.
Keep them coming Smile

Ryvita

Dry cereal. I quite like special k as a snack with no milk! I realise that’s a bit weird but it’s better than cat food!

Turnaroundandigone · 31/10/2022 21:49

Krisprolls
Tortilla chips

Bakingdiva · 31/10/2022 21:58

Both of my dc enjoyed the oat Cheerios as a snack. Kellogg's do a newish cereal flavoured with apple / carrot / beetroot which my ds still loves.

BobbyBobbyBobby · 31/10/2022 22:09

My daughter used to laugh Matzos crackers.

BobbyBobbyBobby · 31/10/2022 22:09

Love not laugh

Girasoli · 31/10/2022 22:19

Pepper sticks
Celery sticks
Peanut cookies
Crackers
Apple slices

canyoutoleratethis · 31/10/2022 22:20

My 19 month old can't get enough of nuts, specifically walnuts and pecans - nuts are incredibly healthy and don't have to be a choking hazard if served appropriately

Tromboncini · 31/10/2022 22:32

What about frozen banana sticks? I’d go breadstick/carrot but just to mix it up any frozen fruit might be good.

DilemmaDelilah · 01/11/2022 07:36

I make croutons with any leftover bread that is going stale. Just put It in a very low oven until it is completely dried out and crispy. If you use the residual heat after you have used the oven and just put it on low it doesn't have to be expensive on fuel. You can flavour them up with a little bit of grated cheese too, if you like.

ifonly4 · 01/11/2022 07:38

Heathly options would be carrot, cucumber and pepper sticks, apple slices.
