Cheapest & effective way to heat a room!

My little boys room is so cold it feels wet his bedding is so cold I could have sworn they’re wet but they’re definitely not. There’s no signs of visible damp it’s just a cold, concrete house. I want to put the heating on but I really can’t afford it (I’m a single mum going through a messy divorce). What is the cheapest way to heat a room? Would a space heater be expensive (scared my son would touch it though) or would a electric blanket do the trick?

ive just showed my sister that one about the blanket, I always thought a blanket underneath the mattress protector was to protect the mattress from sweaty humans 🤣🤣🤣

I agree a dehumidifier, houses do get damp if they remain unheated and it’s bad for health, the little spores develop and get into the lungs causing respiratory illness. It’s condensation dampness and happens in poorly heated properties.

halogen and fan heaters are the cheapest to run. Do you have any funds available or anyone to help loan you a little money? A small heater and a dehumidifier would help and if you then sleep together it will help. But you do need to resolve it, I’m sorry it’s so hard for you right now.

A heated clothes horse is cheap to run and drys a wash at the same time. X

What is your DS wearing to bed? Joggers and long sleeved T shirt might be better than PJs. Socks make a huge difference.

Before he goes to bed wrap up in the duvet t watch TV for 30 mins then move him and the warm duvet to bed.

Oh another thought, not cheap but a proper sleeping bag, the type that keeps you warm in a tent when it is snowing.

Actually a tent is a good way to keep warm, and lots of fun if you are a small child.
