Desperate for advice, in a lot of pain *[Content warning: graphic image included]

And I can't get a GP appointment.

It's been months and I still cannot, and don't want to trouble hospital with this! It isn't an emergency.

Basically, something is sticking out of my anus and causing horrific pain. It is getting worse and worse. I use to be able to push it back in, but now it's out all the time and it feels like whatever this 'thing' is, my anus is strangling it

The pain gets so bad I want to vomit. And I have a high pain threshold

It's just awful: please can anyone advise me what to do? What could it be?

Thank you

Jesus , what an update!
I hope you are getting swift treatment and the prolapse is being treated/removed asap!

Gangrenous?! Jeez, your GP has got some questions to answer after this. Wishing you a speedy recovery! Please do consider a complaint to both your GP and the colorectal service for missing the urgency of this so it doesn't happen again.

I said this to the surgeon. He said it isn't actually an emergency until it becomes gangrene mostly, as until then if isn't priority - so colorectal have done nothing wrong Sad

Just in case anyone was wondering what happened or stumbled upon this thread in the future -

I went to A&E in the end as I was in so much pain. Turns out it was a rectal prolapse going gangrene... I'm still in hospital now

Thanks Mumsnet!' If I didn't ask, and just took actual medical advice that wasn't that great, I'd still be very unwell

Holy moly. Hope you feel better soon.

Golly, well, I’m so glad you’ve managed to get treated now, before you became septic, shiver.

hope you are starting to feel better?

This looks like several things going on at once ..first it looks like you have a bit of a split in the skin & external & an internal haemoroid on your anus..There looks like there's blood on your skin ,are you getting constipation or straining going to the loo & getting spots of blood by any chance?
Seriously if I was you If just get an appointment to see the practice nurse at your GP.surgery & the chances are they'll be able to offer advice or an ointment that will shrink it.I myself btw have a horrid condition called Chrohns disease ( ulceration inside my bowel causes terrible pain & uncontrollable pooping when flared up .I've had to have 12 foot long plastic pipes up by backside ( in the UK not knocked out 😮) lol & believe me these doctors & nurses must see 100 backsides of every description a week..What I see here If check out with the nurse just because of blood stain but it looks non serious ..GET CHECKED OUT & good luck xxx ps..wow very brave putting that photo online I must say

ZOMBIE THREAD!!!

OP has updated already.

Have you ever tried liquid wood gets juice for your Chrohns disease?? I have Ankylosing Spondylitis ..( If rheumatoid arthritis married multiple sclerosis it would be AS) I have the HLAB27'positive gene so get Chrohns, full body psoriasis & am partially sighted after over 100 attacks of inflammatory eye disease..So I completely feel for you with the Chrohns there's still occasionally times in my life when it gets real!g bad 😭I was at my wife end before I started injecting injecting immunosuppressive drugs
..I seriously got the biggest relief through drinking a little cap of New Era Aloe Vera juice or the cheaper Holland & Barrett similar one ( if you're in the UK it's always on special offer in H& B health food shop) .I've just gone I to a rest home for a while to get stronger after doing 6 months in hospital I caught Covi d on the ward last September & being autoimmune ( in the middle of a chrohns attack because NHS hospitals can't cope with healthy vegetarian dietary needs) so I got done in down I ended up i. Intensive care till Christmas ..done 3 more hospitalization since be sued it became COPD..Hope you stay as well as possible bit you can keep the caffeine to a minimum ,eat lots of green vegetables & drink lots of plan water...also peel your fruit ,that I includes fruit especial!g like plum & tomatoes skins as much as possible because our ulcerative bowel can't cope with non soluable fibre..Also add a bit of golden linseed sprinkled on your porridge or museli...honestly it's very good 👍x
