I hate the long dark evenings.
I know they are inevitable.
But every year is worse. Think it's also coupled to menopause symptoms where my general mood and anxiety levels are dreadful.
During the working week November to T he end of February I barely see daylight.
I try and get as much as I can but it's tricky to get outside during the working day
i take vitamin D. I exercise as much as I can.
I do try and embrace the seasons. But I just feel really daunted this year by the thought of it being dark so early
anyone want to commiserate or share any coping strategies
And no I don't want to snuggle under a blankie with a hot choc
just in case anyone thinks that's what I need 😂

I've been watching the met office sunrise and sunset times avidly. I swear I'll turn into an old lady who buggers off to Benidorm to retire for the sunshine.

Love the fact that this thread has popped up again - we've been so busy and so extra tired in the darkest part of the month, festive period is busy too! Today has been one of those that just doesn't get light and can't wait for the weekend so that lighter days are on the way!
For the first time we've booked a sunny break at the beginning of March - DD is at uni so don't have to follow school holidays 😊and I think it will make such a difference............

Happy Solstice everyone! The longer days and better weather are just ahead of us now 😊

Happy solstice (weekend)! I was up at 5am yesterday to see in the light. We were chanting and meditating for 2 hours and it was still dark!

But I do feel reinvigorated! Full of winter action. I have been without my children at Christmas for 10 years this year. (And their dad does not even celebrate Christmas!) By now they are young adults. I am close to them tho and we talk every day. Next year I'm going to make it so that we spend Christmas together.
