What should I put on my Mantle Piece? /In my living room?

I jumped on a thread a few weeks ago about dressing tables, and got some great ideas about what I could put in some empty shelves. It's half full now.

So, what would you put on this mantle piece? I think the mirror needs lowering, but I need more picture wire to do that. The second picture shows the cushions from the sofa. Sofa is the dark brown of the background. Curtains are greige with cream and brown slashes of colour. They may need changing they were bought in a hurry when the curtains were unexpectedly taken by the vendors.

Could also do with a rug, I think....

All suggestions great fully recieved. I'm useless at the bits that make a house feel lived in, but know the livingroom is soleless.

One picture taken last night, one today in daylight.

It look for some little antique glass vases in blue. Three of different sizes arranged at one end.
Possibly two glass candlesticks together at the other end, with complementary colour candles. Keep it simple.

Thanks, Bee
Would you leave the vases empty?

Just remembered some framed photos that hadn't been unpacked. So got some of those on there now. Makes the height of the mirror look more sensible!
Will hit the charity shops for blue vases - maybe with a mustardy coured flower stalk in??

Yes go to the charity shops for interesting vases and candlesticks. A few dried grasses, to scale, in the vases would look lovely.
