Tough half term - anyone else?

Had 2 weeks but spent the first 4 days on a school trip (teacher). Rest of the time it has just been me with DS 4 and DD 2. Both have had viruses and DD has got 3 molars in 2 weeks. So many tears all round. We've done nice stuff but I'm absolutely knackered. Anyone else feel wrung out? I find it hard going back to work after holidays cos everyone else says how refreshed they are and I just look like the walking dead. We moved 6 weeks ago qnd have had both kids birthdays in that time and my mum is in the early stages of dementia.

Just tired to my bones.

That’s a lot to go through at once. I think most people would feel tired to the bones. Next holiday could you put your children in some clubs/activities so you can have a break?

We have a 4 year old and teething 2 year old too. It’s hard! And they have both been in some level of childcare this week!

As someone who had to work with a child in the 2 week half term, I commiserate. Whoever decided to do 2 week half terms in October should be burned at the stake. Absolute nightmare, when I worked in a school we just got the one!

Yes.

Toddler only in nursery three days, which seems like loads of time to catch up on work but isn’t.

Husband wants a divorce so home is a barrel of laughs.**

Have a month of work to still fit into the hours between now and 5pm pickup, and I just want to nap and perhaps watch an episode of Handmaid’s Tale.

Ditto OP, sadly, with a newly-demented mother.

Half term used to be a rest but now I’m just more exhausted and constantly on the verge of tears.

Is it wrong to long for a bout of gentle covid so I can just sleep?

** no actual fucking laughs but I don’t know how to start to process this shit on top of all the other shit.

We've had a poorly half term too and its been draining, never mind with everything else you've had going on 💐

Do you have anyway you can get some down time for yourself?

God yes. We just got a puppy so knew it would be harder than usual. DS jad 2ndays boomed in holiday club and whole thing cancelled at last moment. First World problem but just had to sack cleaner ( long story) so doing all work she'd previously have done. DP and DD thankfully sort themselves out but the house is a tip, nobody seems to help, I'm.working 3 days (now.with ds at home ) and I've got some kind of low level bug tiring me out by 8pm every day.. oh and ds currently gluten free, dp low carbing and dd pescaterian .. im sick of thinking what to cook since there's always someone complaining

Had flu then when 90% shot of the post viral fatigue thing had diarrhoea and vomiting which makes me now feel 90 years old...hit just when toddler has their nursery days...as I am pt to...was meant to be our first 3 days childfree for some much needed quality time together, get on top of the house, maybe have a lunch date... fuck that shit 😭😭😭

Teacher too and I agree. We have visitors staying over. I have enjoyed it but its hard work expensive and stressful. Feel like I need a week to hibernate.

Mega Explosive 5 year old who refuses to leave the house, refuses to go on the camping trip, halloween trail, pumpkin patch without an insane over reatctive blow up. so cancelled the whole lot

Don't know why I bloody bothered

& trying to work from home
