According to the MIL barometer of politics, Sunak will be a good thing?

MIL is avidly pro Brexit, always voted Tory, still blames Labour for all the countries current issues. She thought Boris couldn't put a foot wrong. (Was very quiet over party gate). She wanted Truss to win leadership race...look how that turned out.

She HATES Sunak. With a good dose of casual racism thrown in as well. Now he is new PM she is not happy at all. Therefore, using the MIL barometer of politics as a gauge does this mean things might actually improve a bit? It would actually be quite satisfying to see him do really well.

OMG are you my sister. 😂😂

I think he appears to be sensible. What I really want is for him to work collaboratively with experts and to recognise when another party suggests a good idea giving them the credit - like a grown up.

If you shut your eyes he sounds a bit like Will from The Inbetweeners.

Try it.

😂😂😂

I think I have now just reached a point with politics now that I can only put things into two categories.

  1. MIL approves = bad
  2. MIL disapproves = might turn out alright then 🤷‍♀️

I hear your pain.

I have had to sit and listen to my DM moan about Sunak but singing the praises of Suella all afternoon. With particular note on how she had Albanians back on a plane within 72 hours.

We are also on holiday together and she is now sulking in her room and hasn't come out to eat with us because she knows she has gone too far tonight and I am very upset with her

I've been dreaming of this for 40+ years.
I really, really wish it would happen - you know, listen to the people who work in the NHS before making decisions about it....ditto energy, schools, armed forces, border patrol, transport, haulage, retail, business generally, before making any decisions. Scrapping the pantomime that is PMQ and replacing it with a forum where MPs actually seek solutions to issues, regardless of which party they align themselves with. No point scoring; All working for the good of the masses rather than their own careers.

However , back in the real world.........

Sorry OP, back to you Q. I mean, I think he might be the best out of the 3 most recent PMs. Does that help ?

@TheUsualChaos

Before I read your sentence, I knew you were going to start with brexit/ Europe and daily mail

I think he's bloody fantastic after the two fools we've had previously.
Hasn't he kept some people who were Truss supporters? That also bodes well for me that he's not just surrounding himself with his cronies. I can't understand how Truss was voted in over him in the first place, fucking idiots.
