Asking for a handhold

I've a brother who is currently in hospital.

He was taken on by ambulance from the home he lives in.

He is paralysed following a spinal cord injury 7 years ago. He also has angina.

He was taken to hospital as he had a chest infection and became very breathless (this can be a serious problem for people who are paralysed) and an irregular heartbeat. I have been in touch with the hospital and they have told me that he had blood tests which show "deranged blood", I asked what that meant but they didn't really say. He also has low sodium and calcium and excess fluid, though he's also dehydrated.

Like I said, I asked the nurse to explain and she said that he seems fine in himself and they'll send him for a heart scan and repeat the tests later.

But this all sounds like a lot. And "deranged blood" sounds pretty scary. I live so far away and feel so adrift.

<hand hold>
I hope he’s ok 🌸

Deranged in this sense means quite literally outside the expected range of normal, depending what they’re testing for.

Holding your hand - it must be so scary but he's in the right place.

DB1 been to see my DB2 . He's really confused and can barely speak. So much for "he's OK in himself"
