Trigger warning Recurrent early loss

Posting here for traffic as I tried on the conception board and got no response

I'm currently experiencing my 4th early pregnancy loss in a row. I'm just looking to hear from others who have been through the same. Saw my GP after my 3rd loss and they were very dismissive and reluctant to help because I already have DC

I feel heart broken and don't know why this is happening.

If you have experienced this what helped? Is there anything I can ask my GP for?

Thanks

Hello, I am so sorry to hear about your losses. I had three confirmed miscarriages and at lease one other unconfirmed, when I already had 1 DC. I went on to have a successful pregnancy but it was a really difficult time, I hope your family and friends are looking after you. I was referred to the early pregnancy unit at my local hospital after my third miscarriage. It might be a good idea for you to contact the Miscarriage Association for advice and support. Take care.

I’m so sorry 💐💐💐

There’s a miscarriage board on here which kept me sane when I was going through it.

You can ask to be referred to a recurrent miscarriage clinic, your GP should have done that after your third loss. The waiting times are pretty long at the moment but worth getting referred. If you conceive again before you’ve had an appointment with them they should be able to fit you in. There are standard tests the clinic should run which might flag up an issue and there are lots of options for treatment whether or not your tests show anything.

My tests never showed anything but after much trial and error what worked for me was progesterone, aspirin, steroids and blood thinning injections. Even my consultant who’s been an expert in the field for 20 years didn’t know exactly what did the job, it was art as much as science, but there are things they can do and it shouldn’t make a difference that you already have a child. Somethings not working for you now and that needs investigating.

Thankyou ladies, I didn't know there was a miscarriage board so I will have a look for some support on there.

Did you have to take the asprin and progesterone for your entire pregnancy @AnneLovesGilbert ?
