I’ve read some old threads and got some good tips but would like some up to date info on what I can do, where would be nice to eat alone. I have a ticket for the Louvre. Otherwise nothing else yet planned.
I’m staying in the 9th just south of Place de Clichy, if anyone knows the area and has any eating recommendations.

Nice location OP! You could go up the rue des Martyrs (fab foodie street) then up the rue Lepic, rue Tholozé (there's an old arthouse cinema there) till you get to the Musée de Montmartre, gorgeous little spot with a garden you can read & have coffee in. If you have time before you go, Elaine Sciolino's book The Only Street in Paris will make you dream! The Musée de la vie romantique (nice garden café) and the Musée Gustave Moreau are also close by.

Then the next foodie destination has got to be the rue Monge/rue Mouffetard area. My favourite little bar is back up the rue des Écoles - Le Reflet on the rue Champollion. Variations on a croque monsieur, squashy sofa & good music. Very studenty, therefore cheap.

Then obviously the Marais for falafel, Centre Pompidou. I think they only recently revamped the Musée Carnavalet (museum of Paris) and it's so worth a visit. There's an outdoor café with big white sofas (can you spot a theme). I'd rec the Jewish museum too.

Have a lovely time!! Such a gorgeous city.

If I was on a child free trip I'd take myself to Atelier de Lumieres and the Orangarie Museum to sit and peacefully enjoy some art!

I'm very jealous op, love a solo trip to Paris! Le marais is great for a wander, I love the musee des artes decoratifs on the rue de rivoli. Also love just walking round the gardens, parc monceau is gorgeous.

There's something about being on your own in Paris and just walking about, stopping for a coffee/wine, stumbling across something unexpected that feels really special (if you're me anyway😁)

Thank you!! I will try and fit in everything suggested. Thanks Valadon68 for the itinerary. Sounds wonderful.

If you like contemporary art, there's a wonderful new museum in the revamped building called Le Bourse:

The building is fabulous and there is a changing set of exhibitions.
It's near Les Halles, which has been totally redesigned to create a huge shopping mall and area of public space as only the French can do. It's a lively and comfortable space to wander, eat, look at designer shops, the Seine and feel the buzz of Paris.
Enjoy your trip.

Go on a perfume making course if that floats your boat. Stuff your face with macarons. I’ve done both of these and particularly enjoyed the second one.

Paris is such a lovely city, get a bus pass and see the sights. Go on a boat trip and see the Effiel Tower. Wander around the city, looking in lovely shops, watch the street artists painting lovely pictures and sit outside cafes having a coffee and people watch. Have a picnic in the park.
Hope you have an amazing time!

I was a nanny in Paris in my late 20s & used to just walk for miles - I got so fit! The apartment was on the left bank, not far from Notre Dame, and I loved exploring that side of the city. I would love to go back & be there on June 21st as that’s the day all musicians/singers can perform on the streets without a licence. It’s the most incredible experience with different types of music on every corner, people climbing onto phone boxes or bus shelters to dance on the roof & everyone soaking up the unique atmosphere.

The Pere Lachaise Cemetery is worth visiting, even just for the beauty of the walks you can do there. Musee Rodin if you have any interest in sculpture.

Holybelly! The food is amazing and not expensive. It does get busy.

Even though it's touristy I love the Champs Elysee and there are fabulous bistros behind it.
