Socialising for dummies

I'm a 35 yr old mum of two young children. I co-parent with ExH. He works shifts and has them on his off days. Which means there's no set pattern.

I work in a small office and see the same 3-5 faces 4 days a week. My friends are all settled down so quite understandably spend their evenings with their husbands/partners/ kids. So I find myself with nothing to do often. Id like to do something that gets me out and socialising a bit, I have no other help or childcare so can't do anything regularly on a set day. Does anyone have any suggestions please? Or is it impossible?

No, not impossible. Do give yourself some credit for being a mum of two young children and juggling no set pattern.

I don't know your area, would hiking or a book club be possible? Volunteering? You can just start with something and see how you like people who attend. Something (someone) may click and something (someone) may not and that's ok.

It is hard for me, too, so I'd love to know what other people think 💐

I live in village near the city of roundabouts 😉
I'll admit I'm not an outdoorsy person (unless it's a beer garden or a sun lounger 😂) I'd like to learn to dance but not having a regular day puts a stop to that.
If they were on a regular schedule I'd considered getting a second job in a pub one night a week or something that would get me talking to people but again not possible.

Ahh well guess I'm destined to be a sad, old trout in my own 😂

Try Meetup.com or maybe there's some local Facebook groups? I think Bumble BFF is an option to meet platonic friends too, I know there's a lot in London.

@forevercooking Don't say that! It'll be fine, I'm sure. Just because it's a bit hard now doesn't mean it's always going to be hard x
