Hi,
We have a long weekend in Manchester coming up. Me, DH, 5 yo and baby.
Neither of us have been before. We're flying in.
What is good to do with kids? Any good hotels to stay/ definitely avoid?
All advice welcome. Thank you 😊

@ivykaty44 we live near each other! My youngest is 8 so not been to a farm for a while.

Stockley farm sort of chester way was a favourite. Such a good full day out.
Smithills was good
Reddish Vale (Stockport) for a little farm that's close by
Tatton have a good farm but not got all the activities and play areas of somewhere like stockley. You pay to park as well as the farm and gardens are separate. Great play area not at the farm bit and used to be discounts for national trust members
Wythenshawe park used to have a free farm add on to great walks (play area not so good) and used to have a good cafe

You know about animal Corner at Longford Park right? Not a farm or petting zoo but still close free and entertaining. The coffee shop is great too...

A bigger farm should have tractor rides maybe pony rides, play areas indoor and outdoor, animal feeding and petting times.

And not Manchester but an hour away in bakewell I recently went to chatsworth which has a great farm and play area as well as beautiful gardens. Well worth a trip.

I'm glad you enjoyed it OP. I couldn't believe how negative some people were early in the thread. I love Manchester.

Do you live here?

@ZenNudist. thank you so much for writing that list, its really useful. Ive been through whythenshaw park, but the others I will make a note of and investigate.

I don't live that way, my family do, so im up there quite a bit and its nice to have stuff to go out to as my dd1 isn't local either its great to get recommendations for places. A second baby is due next year so no doubt i'll be spending more time in the area

We did find Kin and the beautiful cakes, yummy
