Pissed off but should I say something?

I am a primary supply teacher. When I don't have a supply job, I help in my daughter's year 6 class because there are 45 in the class and another pair of hands always helps.

This week is a bit slow. Only have work for Wed,thur and fri so I helped out yesterday morning and went in this morning to find a supply teacher there. The normal teacher was in meetings (she is the deputy aswell.)

Feel like I'm being taken for a mug. Why didnt they ask me? I probably would have done it for free as I know how tight finances are.

Should I say something?

Maybe they wanted a teacher who wasn’t a parent? Seems reasonable to me. Weird to be upset

Tbh they probably won't want you for supply because you are a parent at the school. They will have a set of supply teachers or agencies they use normally so will stick with them.

They aren't taking you for a mug because you are volunteering to help out. They aren't demanding you come in.

Well yes, why pay for what they get for free?

Does the person who books supply know you do supply? Do these use a specific agency and you aren’t registered with them.
I’d make it known you do supply but they may have policy against teaching own child.
