Easy dinners to please everyone

One of my go to dinners to keep everyone happy is to cook some breaded chicken goujons, usually the southern fried style, and plonk on the table with wraps, a bowl of homemade guacamole, some sour cream, grated cheese, a bowl of salad leaves, and various salsa/peri peri/chipotle type sauces.

Everyone helps themselves and makes their own wraps.

What's your go-to easy crowd pleaser?

Beef pie always goes down well. Takes quite a long time to cook but most of the time it is hands-off work and I use some shortcuts. In casserole dish put in a bag of pre-cubed swede / carrots, then peel and chop a few potatoes and two onions, a few sticks of celery, grate in some garlic. Pepper, pinch of dried herbs, dash of Worcestershire, heaped tbsp of Bisto best powder. Stir all together. Add in a pack of cubed casserole beef (I like cubed beef shin from sainsburys). Add water to cover about half way up the contents. Lid on and slow cook for 4 hours. When done, shred the meat and stir, then top with a sheet of ready made puff pastry and finish cooking. The hard bit is really only the chopping at the beginning. Very easy after that and everyone likes it. Don't have to cook any side dishes either as there's potatoes in there.
