How do you dry clothes?

Tumble- dry towels pants socks joggers and bedding and most t shirts.

Everything else on an airer. It can take DAYS, especially as we have no heating on.

I hear of people who tumble dry everything- what is this witchcraftery that leads to no shrinking?

I'm trying to be energy efficient too hence (no central hearing on and I'm trying keep it off but we do have a nice big log burning stove and we aren't cold at all)

Tell me your secrets!

For those of you saying stuff takes a couple of days to dry inside on an airer, how do the clothes not smell?! If I do that then they end up stinking 😅

Exactly. We had that on our clothes, that slight whiff of damp. Gross. We use the dryer now for every wash. I also felt I was always a load or two behind waiting for the airers to be free of the previous load. I have the heat pump one and it is the best thing ever.

I’ve just bought a heated drying pod from Lakeland. It looks mad but does the job fairly quickly

I think I have a system

Smallest upstairs room with airer, radiator airer and clothes rail and small oil filled radiator.

Very few clothes in the room and tumbled as much as Possible.

On the line was quick drying stuff delicate stuff mainly for work. I hate it when I get it in and it's got damp again or is it just cold can never tell.

I do t have a utility, large sun filled garden, a washing machine with a timer or the then and inclination to put the washing out more than once. I did the the washing round today in the line.

It's cost around £5 in energy.

I'm still line drying too - managed to get all bedding done last weekend and 2 loads done yesterday ( towels and school uniform) and today. Looks like it'll be sunny tomorrow so will put a small load out before work.

We haven't put the heating on yet but will need to soon to dry stuff as no tumble dryer here.

I drape things over radiators in the winter and ooen the windows a crack. That way the house is being heated and I'm drying simultaneously. In the summer I either use the line outside or put clothes on an airer in the conservatory.

I dry everything outdoors, pretty much. Ooh a line prop; I haven't heard of one of those for years. I might have to get one.
